At 45 km, the island is the largest in the West Isles Parish which had a 2001 population of 851. The major communities on the island are Fairhaven, Leonardville, Lords.

How to Get to Campobello Island. There is a ferry connecting Deer Island to Campobello Island. This ferry takes approximately 30 minutes and runs every hour on the half (STC) Deer Island-Campobello Island Ferry Schedule here. The cost was approximately $32 for a family of 4 and the car to go one way.
